Watching The Great Mississippi Balloon Race One fall activity worth making the drive to is The Great Mississippi Balloon Race. It is part of the Natchez Balloon Festival, held at Rosalie Mansion and Gardens at 100 Orleans Street on the third weekend of October. Since 1987, the Historic Natchez Foundation and the Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution have worked together to put on this colorful, fun festival, and it features a lot more than just a hot air balloon race. Other highlights include: Carnival rides Arts and crafts booths An evening balloon glow Live music Hot air balloon flights Fireworks 2. Partaking in the Fall Pilgrimage We also recommend taking part in the Fall Pilgrimage between September 23 and October 20.
